Find relief from stress, anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias.

Hypnotherapy for stress and anxiety is very effective. Positive suggestions while in a relaxed yet focused state allow the subconscious mind to easily accept new ideas. Perceptions and responses to life’s circumstances shift and you will find your reactions to negative situations are met with a more measured and appropriate response.

Tools are provided that you can use in any situation to help ease anxious thoughts or calm panic attacks. Phobias, like fear of flying, fear of bridges, and claustrophobia, can be helped effectively with hypnotherapy.

Hello! I’m Laurie

Certified Hypnotherapist

I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve been a certified hypnotherapist in Washington State since 2015, and I am a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. In 2019, I started my hypnotherapy business so I could focus my time and energy on helping people discover this wonderful, natural, drug-free way to de-stress, manage anxiety, break negative patterns or get motivated in life! I love seeing the results of my clients’ experiences: quick, easy, and lasting, even after just one session. Once they realize they have the tools within them to reach their goals or change their behaviors, it’s very empowering for them. A bit more about me: I live in the upper left-hand corner of the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my husband Bill. I love helping people grow and learn through my business, and in my spare time enjoy reading, camping, travel, and spending time with loved ones.

Since receiving hypnotherapy from Laurie though, I have found that I am definitely in control. There is never a time during sessions that I don’t hear her voice. It is all positive and encouraging. It has changed my life and I see things that have bogged me down in everyday life vanish. My reactions to certain circumstances are now handled in a positive way. Frequently Asked Questions

Learn How it Works!

What is hypnosis?

To me, the most accurate way to describe hypnosis is to refer to it as guided meditation. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind, not an artificially induced sleep as some describe incorrectly. Any time we are engrossed in a movie or tv show or novel, we are in a natural hypnotic trance. The client’s conscious mind is relaxed and the subconscious mind becomes accessible, giving greater possibilities for change. However, the hypnotist does not control the client. Rather the hypnotist is the guide during the session and the actual power for change is within the mind of the person who enters the state of hypnosis.

What happens during a hypnosis session?

In a typical session, the client and hypnotist have met and discussed what the goals are for the client. The client sits or reclines comfortably and with eyes closed, listens as the hypnotist calmly and gently brings about total relaxation using descriptions and words and breathing techniques. This is called progressive relaxation. Once the hypnotist feels the client is in the appropriately relaxed state, positive suggestions are given in such a way that the client can completely imagine themselves reaching their desired goals. The client’s subconscious mind becomes stronger and can more effectively deal with the challenges they face or the negative behaviors they wish to eliminate. If hypnotherapy techniques are used, the client will actually dialogue while in this heightened awareness to allow themselves to discover their own answers to their issues. It’s very empowering for the client! Before the session is concluded, the hypnotist gently brings the client back to their normal “awakened” state while at the same time giving the client some positive post hypnotic suggestions that will help them beyond the session. The client finishes the session feeling positive, clear-minded and often, the most relaxed they’ve ever felt.

How can hypnosis help me?

Anyone, young or old, can experience and be helped with hypnosis. Even children with learning disabilities can benefit.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed will depend on the problem or goal of the client. For some problems, such as a phobia or fear, one session can be effective. For other issues, like weight loss or smoking, two to three sessions may be necessary. For more complex problems where there may be multiple subconscious blocks to work through, more sessions may be needed.

Can I address more than one issue in the same session?

Addressing multiple issues in one session weakens the process and will not be as effective for any of them. But if the issues are closely related (for instance, motivation and procrastination) it’s possible to treat them both, for the sake of time and money.

What can I do after the session?

I will teach you techniques for self-hypnosis and tools to effectively help in any situation to reach your goals.

How do I know if hypnosis will work for me?

All hypnosis is really self-hypnosis and if the client is in active participation of the process, they will experience excellent results.

How do I choose the right hypnotist?

Always choose a hypnotist that can show they’ve completed the necessary courses and hours required to practice in their state. Be wary of hypnotists that have taken only a “weekend course” or a couple of classes; they may not follow proper guidelines and may do more harm than good. Always take the time to speak over the phone and ask questions with a prospective hypnotist, so you can tell if they seem receptive and understanding of your needs. A good hypnotist/hypnotherapist will acknowledge if they are not experienced in the area you need help with and will do what they can to recommend someone who is.

Can I do hypnosis with a large group or listen to hypnosis sessions?

Of course, it’s possible to do hypnosis in large groups or listen to generic recordings and get some results, but these types of sessions will not be tailored to you specifically. Seeing a hypnotherapist one-on-one is much more effective because they are focusing on you and your unique issues and will help you discover the answers you’d only be able to obtain from your communication in working with them.

Is hypnosis dangerous?

Please understand that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and that a hypnotist cannot make anyone do anything that they would not normally do or be willing to do in a fully conscious state. The client is always aware during the session and if a hypnotist were to suggest something that was illegal or morally wrong to the client, the client would immediately break from the relaxed state or trance and the session would be over.

You are always safe and secure and you can end the session at any time if you wish. No harm can come to you, and at the very least you’ll experience deep calmness and serenity. Of course, you should never practice self-hypnosis while driving a car or operating machinery.

Can hypnosis be done over the phone?

It is possible to do hypnosis over the phone or with Skype if the client can control the environment they’re in with minimal noise/interruptions. It may not be quite as effective with just a phone since the hypnotist is not able to physically observe the client to determine their level of relaxation/trance but it is certainly possible. The process would be similar as if the client were in the office, as long as they can safely close their eyes and sit or lie down. They can work on anything from overcoming fears, help with public speaking, a golf tournament or sleep problems, or any number of issues. I would recommend seeing me first in person if possible before trying an over the phone or Skype session.*

*Please note that a confidentiality waiver would be required as I would have no control over who is in earshot of your “side” of the session. The same confidentiality rules that I always follow would be upheld on my side-no one else would be privy to your session on my end.

What about confidentiality?

Your sessions are always confidential and I cannot and will not disclose any information from your sessions except for in specific cases that are written out in my new client paperwork. All my clients’ forms and notes are safely locked in my office.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, most insurance companies don’t cover hypnotherapy, so I do not currently accept insurance. By seeking hypnotherapy for yourself, you are investing in your own personal well-being! The financial commitment will be worth it when you reach your goals or break negative habits that may have plagued you for years.
